Week In Review: 5 Things I'm Thankful For

Friday, September 1, 2017

This past week has been a really tough one. My fall semester began on Monday and it has been an incredibly hectic time getting my schedule/life situated around this. I go to school on Mondays & Wednesdays. The kids have their therapy's on Mondays & Tuesdays. I have to drop them off at 7am, so I can work within the schedule of my babysitter & get to class on time. This means I have to leave my house no later than 6:40am.

Have I mentioned that I am not a morning person?

Week In Review: 5 Things I'm Thankful For

Week In Review

For the past 7 days, I have had to get up between 6-7am every. single. day. I'm exhausted. They're exhausted. It's not fun. And I know that this is just the beginning.

On top of that, I have a cold. And it is really kicking my butt. I have been taking stuff for it since the onset (Sunday) and yet it has just gotten worse. Autoimmune disorders suck and they are even worse when a virus decides to come at you.

So there are my complaints for the week.. Not too bad, but I had to throw them out there.

Feeling Thankful For..

Onto the good!

I want to start naming off 5 things that I'm thankful for every week. It's nice to be able to have a moment, take a deep breath, and remember what you are thankful for.

My Family

I know.. obvious and cheesy, right? But seriously. As a SAHM/WAHM who homeschools her kids, I don't often have to leave them. Quite frankly, I don't often have the choice (haha). But each semester that I am in school gives me sense of appreciation for their very existence. Knowing that after a long day of running around, working, sweating, dealing with people I don't want to deal with.. It's so nice to come back to these sweet girls that love me so much. I'm so thankful to have them in my world.

I'm also incredibly thankful for the supportive husband that is always there to make dinner when I am much too frazzled or exhausted from all this running that I do! He may only know how to make a few dinners, but if the kids are fed, I don't care! Happy kids = happy mama.

Week In Review: 5 Things I'm Thankful ForStability

Growing up, I didn't have much. I was raised by a single mom and I have 4 siblings. We went through some really, really rough times and I didn't always know if we would have a roof over my head or even food to eat. Not to any fault of my mom's... it's just how it is out there sometimes.

Right now, today, I am so thankful for the stability I have had with my husband. Financially, he has always provided in the best way he could. He has always strived to do more and seek out better options when needed. When we have a goal, he reaches it, and I'm so thankful for the hard working person I married! Not only that, the emotional & mental stability. I won't go into all of it, but I definitely became accustomed to abusive people running my life and that causes a lot of issues, in itself. I love that I don't have that anymore. Knowing the ground isn't going to crack underneath your feet is an incredible thing, that I will never take for granted.

Like I mentioned earlier, it's been a hectic week. I cannot even describe how frazzled I have felt. But there have been little moments here and there that I have laughed..truly laughed, as though no stresses were abound. As though I am not exhausted. As though I'm not battling illness. I love to laugh, and I love that I have surrounded myself with people that make me laugh. In the most stressful times, if you can find a moment to smile or laugh, you've got something truly special.

I seriously cannot express how thankful I am for friends. There are just some people that are so generous and always have my back, and I love that about them. I have had a couple friends step in this week to help me out with watching the kids, so that I could make orientation classes & such happen. These women are so sweet to my kids and are just so awesome for everything they did for me over the past couple days! Seriously... Find yourself some good friends.

Week In Review: 5 Things I'm Thankful ForSchedules

I honestly don't know where I would be without my schedules. I don't know how I would function without a calendar in my phone, constantly reminding me about the next thing that I need to do. This week I have accomplished absolutely everything I set out to accomplish and that is huge for me! I'm SUPER thankful for the ability to fill out my schedules online and print them out for the fridge, too.. Like this one..

Honestly, there are so many things that I'm appreciative for in my life.

What are some things you're thankful for? How was your week? Share in the comments!
