Moana: Another Disney Hit

Tuesday, November 22, 2016

My girls and I had the privilege of viewing a pre-screening of Disney's "Moana" last night. While my 2 year old wasn't excited about going, my 8 year old definitely was! Miss Quirky (8) had been watching the trailer's for this movie for months prior. So once she found out that we could have a "special" viewing of it, she was ready!

We arrived extra early, so as to get decent seats. We stocked up on some popcorn and juice and got ready to be wowed! Before the movie began, of course there was an adorable "short" movie for us. Miss Quirky really loved it, as it had her cracking up. If you can make time for it, definitely arrive 10-15 mins early so you can enjoy it.

We were able to view the film in 3D, which made the liveliness of this movie even more incredible! Of course, Miss Spunky (2) wouldn't wear the 3D glasses for more than 30 seconds, since 3D films scare the bajeezus out of her. At which point, she tries to steal mine off of my face.....
It's a battle.

From the very start, this movie was captivating. The music was entrancing, lyrics enticing, and the colors were exquisite! I truly didn't want to take my eyes off of this movie. Miss Spunky got to dance through some of the more upbeat songs, which is always an enjoyable thing. "Moana" was exactly who you hoped she would be--strong, intelligent, and kind. Just the kind of girl you wish for your girls to look up to. Disney did an incredible job with this movie.. I think it will be a huge hit!

I've always been a huge Disney fan and I've raised my kids to be as such---I've even converted the husband. But this movie was so fantastic, that we will be seeing it again THIS WEEK! I can't wait! "Moana" is a great all-around family movie, what with the bounce between comedic and serious moments. I definitely push for everyone to go watch it and have a laugh, as we did. If you don't have any plans, make some and go see "Moana" tomorrow, November 23, 2016. You'll absolutely love it!!

P.S... There's a split second when you see mama's wearing their babies! Can you find it?? If so, come back and tell me.

For centuries, the greatest sailors in the world masterfully navigated the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, 3,000 years ago, their voyages stopped for a millennium – and no one knows exactly why. From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who is inspired to leave the safety and security of her island on a daring journey to save her people. Inexplicably drawn to the ocean, Moana (voice of AuliÊ»i Cravalho) convinces the mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson) to join her mission, and he reluctantly helps her become a wayfinder like her ancestors who sailed before her. Together, they voyage across the open ocean on an action-packed adventure, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills her quest and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity. Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “The Princess & the Frog”), produced by Osnat Shurer (“Lifted,” “One Man Band”), and featuring music by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mark Mancina and Opetaia Foa‘i, “Moana” sails into U.S. theaters on Nov. 23, 2016.
